This happened probably, like, decades before you were born. I mean, obviously not a good look, but more or less ancient history at this point.
A long, productive relationship with revered icons of the game helps promote a likeable image. Not many clubs can point to associations with guys like Scully, Robinson, Koufax, Campanella, etc, etc. Other clubs have icons, of course, but the Dodgers’ have more of an overall sense of likeability.
