Do all cable stay bridges look identical to the Zakim bridge in Boston? While cool looking, they don’t seem to have much identity.

Yes, that’s a good one. Also:

I’ve always known that as the “camper game” with campers at bluegrass festivals or campgrounds

As someone who has made my own deep dive (on a so far much smaller, I’m not quitting my day job yet level) back into photography after being pretty serious in my teens, I appreciate hearing your story of how you’ve made it work. I really enjoy your work so I hope you continue in this field!

You speak the truth

“What makes Formula Drift different from all of the other racing series (emphasis mine) in America is not just the variety of cars that show up—everything from V8-swapped 1990s Nissan 240SXs to a 900 horsepower twin-supercharged Ferrari—it’s that they’re all competitive not really racing.

My 2005 Outback XT needs a show where it can be accepted for the awesome turbo manual wagon it is, rather than simply be “not a WRX”. Pictured with fence panels on the roof because it’s the latest photo I have of it, but it looks better in vacation mode with bikes on the back and 2 surfboards on the roof!

I stopped being worried about an AI takeover when I realized Spotify’s recommendation algorithm consistently goes “so you like jazz, here’s a music minus one play along track and a tune off the H. Jon Benjamin album where a comedian pretends to play piano”. Go home silly computers, you’re drunk!

I can’t speak to other places, but here in upstate NY (somewhere between the Adirondacks and the VT border) pretty much every second vehicle is a Subaru. Plus we have bears here, so yeah I can see why it seems like bears prefer Subarus. Other places that have lots of Subarus & bears: Pacific Northwest, Colorado, Maine.

I mean they made (make? I don’t keep up on such things) a 750 that made 47hp, weighed 489lbs and sold for around $7k, so close-ish to your specs. As is the case with some things I suspect that the “ish” there was the problem and I think they sold like 3 of them. Still, they did try...

$4,200 would buy you a heck of a decent used motorcycle (or a used Harley Sportster). For another $1500 you could even get a used “real” Harley like a Dyna or something. Or you could buy 77 pairs of white new balance shoes, or 200 bald eagle & flag t shirts. Any of which sounds better than spending $4,200 on a heavy

I’d say it does need 2 more cylinders, because that torque figure isn’t that much higher than what I’m getting in my AWD wagon (with a manual I might add). And mine cost me less than a 10th of that price to boot!

The regulator/rectifier on my motorcycle died on me once during a 2.5 hour ride in the evening. This meant that the lights dimmed until I got on the highway, at which point the high beam surged until it eventual blew with an hour left to go. Then the low beam started to surge and flicker, but managed to hold on until

Required for a car:

I’d honestly be okay with giving up power steering on the right car for the addition of cruise control. While my car has it, it’s always been extremely jerky with the throttle to the point where it’s basically unusable. Things like a 12 hour drive to my wife’s family in Michigan straight across the flatness of Canada

I’m clearly not up to date on my dystopian future nuclear wasteland technology. I’m sorry, and I should probably brush up before the coming apocalypse

Or, seeing as how they are most likely air filters on a rear mount twin-turbo setup “substance with style”

What is a “radiation sniffer”? Radiation isn’t something that gets detected by smelling filtered air...

True, and while we don’t have a clear shot from the front here it does appear to have air ducts behind the side windows. So it seems we have a mid/rear engined car with twin turbos and a manual. Rad!

Exactly. I have to really applaud the game designer’s attention to detail assuming that’s indeed what they are
