This ignores the other main reason not to wear them while swimming or showering...the water hitting your eye (opening underwater, rising from the water then opening your eyes, strong jet from shower) lifts the lens off of your eyes and out it goes.  Lost many a contact that way.

But they had to be close to it to be hit by said tree debris, right?
