Set it up as a gmail account, not an Exchange account. Then turn the Delete option on (Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Gmail>Archive Messages (off) ).

You're the market thats targeted, since you're a casual user. For the majority of people out there though, this doesnt suit their needs. However, even for most casual users, when its side by side with another laptop, most are going to pay that extra $100 for a "real" one that does a lot more.

I care...when I delete junk, I dont want it in my Archive, where I Archive messages that I want to keep, but not have "in my face" in my inbox.

They'd also have to mention how Deleting doesnt work like you think, and its a two-step process now. Also they should make a note as to whether people are really making so many Contacts changes that they cant wait 15 minutes for the fetch, and same with the Calendar.
