I’d say the reaction to a joke that was kinda clever, kinda meh, very harmless is perhaps a reason why Democrats lost the election.

Yeah after I posted it I thought about some of that stuff. I guess until a few days ago I was hopeful our American spirit would conquer, and we would recover. Perhaps we will in spite of this. Maybe this shows us what we don’t want to be and brings together. Who knows.
I really like the we are Rome analogy. I’ve felt for a while now that we’re living in another time of bread and circuses, and I’m fearful this past election is the first signs of a falling empire. As an American who has always been proud to be American I can only hope I’m wrong.
The guy whining about the NCAA rules didn’t have to go play in the NCAA if he didn’t want to. He had other, very realistic options.
I thought this was a sports website.
“....with little to show for it” - You mean other than 19 million dollars...I am not trying to be a jerk but lots of people do good work at crappy companies...never forget this is a job, not a hobby.
Hey man, if you had the Bears pegged for more than 6 wins, that’s on you.
Can’t
DUDE I know. This affected their philly cheese steaks as well.
Arright, sounds like now I have to cross the bridge for a sammich.
I’ll do that. See? I’m open minded. I only seek deliciousness. (I’ve only had soup at Stone Soup.)
Taking any one of Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, or Dwyane Wade over Darko, obviously. That pick had the potential to be a “James Worthy to the Lakers” kind of dynasty maker. Instead, the Pistons took a player whose greatest career accomplishment is getting a blog named after him.
How rebellious of you. While I appreciate the effort at logical argument you should educate yourself as to what an argument of false equivalence actually is. If I tried to argue that discrimination against say white people compared with that against black people at a macro level would be a good example. But using the…
If I compared macro-bias against “white people” to macro bias against “black people” that would be a false equivalence. Saying that in group/out group bias is wrong is not a false equivalence. Saying that it’s inherently wrong to add a little extra outrage on account of the gender/ethnicity of the creator in this…
Systemic racism is just a symptom of in group/out group bias. Some groups are disproportionately affected owing to the “in group” that tends to own the means of production/dominate law enforcement and the judicial system. It also doesn’t help when one group only makes up 12 percent of the population. That being said…
Or because your ham headed post evinced the same kind of harmful categorical bias that let’s say results in horrid poverty/crime/incarceration rates among say the black community for instance. There is a fundamental flaw with condemning based upon color and gender.
“Cry, me”
If marijuana was legal in all 50 states then I’d agree that marijuana suspensions are b.s. However, since its illegal then the NFL should have policy and one they stick to in regards to using and illegal substance. What is moronic is that you can beat the s**t out of your wife and not get suspended. But we all know…
The Court is NOT on Dr. Luke’s “side.” The Judge merely applied the law to the facts. As an attorney one of the hardest things to deal with are bad facts. They are what they are and we do our best to construe them most favorably to our clients but ultimately Judges have no discretion to choose a “side” they like. It’s…
Good one,you shoulda left off 'Big difference' for extra burn...
