Good point. Carrier's don't feel the need to update all the time, as the also want you to buy new phones instead of waiting and saving money. And those OS updates can help speed your phone up (have updates slowed down an Android phone yet? I know iOS can have that problem, but how often does Android have that…
More than likely, it will make it into the roundup/results post as a point. But the primary focus is on these two because of the fact that they make up a significant part of the smartphone industry and are often compared against each other.
You have a good point there. Apple provides updates much faster than Android, even with Nexus devices.
