I bought my niece Molly the eponymous doll for Christmas when she was about six. She is in her early twenties now, and is a mom, but to my delight, she kept her doll! It’s a little worse for wear, but that tells me it was loved and played with. Yes, the dolls are pricey, but I think they’re cool.

I agree, not funny or cute. That’s a terrible thing to do to a person, no matter who they are. Plane crashes are one of my top worst nightmares, and I would probably have to be hospitalized after such a stunt. Nobody deserves that.

No, their parents micromanage their lives and shelter them from anything that might be even slightly upsetting. Kids becoming that upset at a scene in a Disney movie is overly precious, in my opinion.

I adore that movie. That’s one I watched over and over with my kiddo when he was very small. He’s eighteen now, and a couple months ago, he texted me to tell me he was watching it with his friends. Uh oh, I have something in my eye...

When my kid was little, he would have thought that was the best mix up ever! He was a strange kid, though. His favorite movie at age six was The Ring, and at seven, he asked us to take him to see Fahrenheit 911. Or maybe we were just terrible parents.

“Carmen Sandiego stuffed up my ass”

Or Olivia. Or Isabella Grace. Seriously, why does every single baby Isabella have the middle name Grace? And everyone thinks they are the first to think of it, or at least, on the vanguard.

I had my one problematic wisdom tooth removed a couple weeks after high school graduation. I had met Julian, the Hottest Man In The Universe, the week prior, he was just lovely inside and out, and I went under thinking about him. When I came to, I kept insisting to my mom and the nurse that Julian was there, and that

I was always way more of a cat person, too, till someone gave me my little dog. She is under four lbs, and is pure heart. I can’t imagine life without her now. My kitty cats will always be special to me, and I adore them, but now that I have been loved by a dog, I know that amazing loyalty and understanding people

She sounds about like I did, when I was around nineteen. My pet cause was the Middle East, but I wasn’t shy about holding forth on any sociopolitical topic. I must have been insufferable. Tomorrow I’ll make a note to call my poor parents and apologize.

This was exactly our experience with my son. The itchy mouth thing freaked me out so badly; I am grateful he outgrew it, instead of it becoming even worse over time, as often happens.

Very true. My older boy had sensitivity to all manner of raw veggies and fruits when he was little, but he was able to eat them.cooked with no problems. He has outgrown much of that, to everyone’s relief.

Well, this here old, white, suburban mom-type person is as appalled as all you young'uns. Not all us old people are reactionary, get-off-my-lawn tea partiers. There are lots more, just like me, who want to make sure we leave this world in good hands for our kids. However, it's your generation's turn now. Vote, get
