The tipping point you’re worried about happened thirty years ago.

Why are we doing this in 2019?

That remark doesn’t read as a judgment on anyone but herself. If she wasn’t able to smoke weed and be a useful member of society and passionate about things, it’s good she quit. Doesn’t mean others can’t do what she couldn’t.

There’s something about her where she breaks the mold in every aspect of gymnastics and makes her a GOAT for more than just her capabilities. She’s incredible for so many reasons. Forgetting her insane skills for just a moment, consider:

Naw, that’s literally you. Come from poverty and still manage to care about both humans and dogs, and absolutely would not abuse one. Maybe it’s regional, or cultural, or -al I can’t think of off the top of my head. Not trying to make you feel bad or anything here, just don’t want to be lumped in that.

The Washington Post has really gone downhill since they switched to Kinja.

What a surprise that the first comment blames a woman

It’s a sad thing to admit, but I’ve seen too many women decide to leave a company after a maternity leave because of the negative undercurrent over the leave itself.

Yes! Because while retention policies do help keep storage use lower they really are about limiting exposure to damaging conversations. The harder part is capturing the often more damaging “chat histories” in a format that is acceptable.

Good advice. My wife was in a similar situation that I thought was shady as hell.

My best friend had her first child when she was an associate at a multinational law firm and she got zero support from other women. None. Overwhelmingly the response she got was “I dealt, so can you. Figure it out.” She lasted a year or so after her kid was born and then left - left BigLaw life altogether.

Some, not all women. My first female boss was childless and made it clear that work not family always came first. Second female boss was driven and rising star in the company and I was so scared to tell her I was pregnant. But she was also pregnant and due the same month as me! I had no issues and paid leave for 4

The CYA files are, unfortunately, a necessity for almost everyone. Even more so if you’re not fortunate to be a “looks pleasant enoughwhite dude like I am.

I’d like to option this post for a screenplay.

True

My wife went on early leave because of doctor ordered bedrest. Her manager (female with kids) treated her vilely. On her return her manager demanded that she make up for lost time and immediately assigned her 12-14 hrs of work every day. Our kid wasn’t even home from the hospital yet. My wife wouldn’t bring it up to

currently parental leave in the US is the corporate equivalent of “tolerance.”
