11 characters, each of which can have 1 of 64 values, is 66 bits. It’s rather more likely that they’re using only 64 bits, because it is easier to store and process, and you don’t really need the extra 55 quintillion combinations it provides.

767, not 737. Significantly larger plane.

The radiation is produced in a particle accelerator when electrons are forced to change direction with a magnetic field, unlike medical X-ray which are produced by radioactive isotopes. They’re not actually in the particle accelerator (at least, not in the beam path) but on the outside of the synchrotron.

Hey, lay off the hate on Samantha.

You have to hand it to them for being able to come up with it though. They’ll either go far in marketing or go to jail sometime in the near future. Or both.

I’ve only seen LiFePo4 batteries as lead acid replacements. They’re supposed to have lower energy density than lithium ion. Tesla’s pack is supposed to include protection and thermal regulation. Could that be the reason for the difference in weight?

The airlines aren’t likely to ban all portable electronics any time soon

Yes! Forgot about the Ubehebe crater. Was there on the same trip. Walked down the crater.

Biggest open pit mine in California, not far from Death Valley. US Borax Rio Tinto mine near Boron, CA. Actually open to visitors (my photo from the visitor’s center).

I don’t doubt different salts have their uses. It’s just that I’m skeptical if it makes any difference at that very low concentration. My BS detector perks up whenever I hear something like “add somewhat exotic product to water to make it a bit more complex”. But haven’t done it before, I will admit that it might make

There’s also some iron oxide, which is where the color comes from. I’m now tempted to go buy some Himalayan salt just to see for myself.

My question is : adding the equivalent of 2 grains of Himalayan salt, but using generic table salt, dissolved in 8 oz of water, is it possible to tell the difference between the two types of salt?

Thank you!

Interesting. I’m going to try an A/B test with tomorrow’s coffee to see if I can tell the difference.

It’s actually not hard to get sea salt from mountain ranges. It’s the same way you find fossils of sea creatures in mountains - tectonic plate movement.

But .. “no more than 1 to 2 grains”? I don’t think I can taste the difference of 1 to 2 grains of salt vs sugar dissolved in a glass of water.

Thanks for the additional trivia regarding Himalayan sea salt. I question if anyone can tell the difference in taste at 1 to 2 grains per glass of water. Or even taste if it is there in the first place? “Complexity”...

Bottled water is a scam, but “water sommelier”?

I thought of having the curtains do a synchronized dance, but I like the poltergeist idea so much more :)

Depends on where you are living right now. And where you’d be living / working if you did move.
