What a disaster
What a disaster
Not to drag this out but-
I definitely don’t think the whole thing sucks. This is not a LOST situation where the ending completely undoes all the past good- seasons 1-4 are still incredible.
They are definitely shitty writers tho, and I think if you do some research on them- their lack of experience and credentials, their insistence on it…
FYI immigration was just one of the areas where Obama sucked- he also bombed many, many children with drones, destablized two countries, including Yemen, where he enabled the Saudi government to commit war crimes. Great public speaker tho!
Did you read the article or nah
Also, I was 15 years old and even I was smart enough to know the WMD thing was bullshit, I marched on Washington to stop more endless war and Democrats like Biden voted for it anyway. Fuck em.
Elect Biden and the country burns four years later. Stop settling and electing Republicans with a D in front of their name.
I would also caution against painting people who have criticisms of art or entertainment as “rabid fans” or “screaming whiners.” I find this framing to be part of why the discourse is such shit right now. There is this sense that a TV show is a gift to its audience (it’s not, we’re paying for it) and that we should…
I actually really respect this opinion, though it kinda cuts to why I hate the ending so much. You kinda acknowledged that this was some dumb, lowbrow shit way back when, so having a dumb ending isn’t going to irk you. My problem is the show is based on very intelligent source material, it started off very…
If that was the point why does it end with a heroic montage set to an epic rendition of the main theme and not a dirge set to imagery of suffering peasants? The hopeful, optimistic way the ending is presented is at odds with your interpretation. They clearly thought it was a happy, or at least “bitersweet” ending.…
Regardless of whether or not she was active on the Facebook group, she is the head of CBP under Trump sooo.....
Well said.
The head of CBP is obvi bad, this is not a hill worth dying on. Not every conversation requires a contrarian.
Genuine thank you, this was very informative. I have always found the term confusing (same with neocon). Still hate Lindelof and this show tho, haha
The police still kill minorities at a higher rate than white people and the police, regardless of the ethnicity or race of the individual officer, are tools of the white hegemony, so I don’t really see what point you’re trying to make here.
Don’t know where you’re getting the right wing thing from, neoliberalism is essentially free market capitalism through a liberal lens and has been the favored ethos of the Democratic establishment for years (see Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton), which is the point I was trying to make- “a modified form of liberalism…
Yeah, I could see that if it was like, a neolib because I think that’s what you’re referring to, whereas Redford is super left and progressive. Mostly it’s just a dumb, contrived idea, kinda like a sequel to Watchmen. Also considering this is a world where white supremacists hunt the police and the showrunner is def a…
He’s definitely not a “bad white man” but that doesn’t mean he’s going to approach issues of race with any kind of insight or nuance, which based on what we know about this plot so far, seems to be the case.
Bad take
How does the ending of this epic saga hold any kind of thematic weight or inherent meaning when essentially nothing was accomplished?
