If someone beat your ass, someone would get arrested because that’s a crime. They can justify their violence all they want, but it’s still a crime with consequences.

You don’t do anything to the child. That’s punitive, and only results in deep seated resentment. Just ask my dad what happened to him the day he hit me but I overpowered him. (Magically, I outgrew spanking that day!)

Yes, but that was the show's whole premise. They were hectoring overweight people, saying you'll die young and get a heart attack, yet the person on the show in perfect health had one. Yes, it had nothing to do with weight or health, which went against everything that show espoused.
