Thanks for the confirmation. It seems like a lot of the information out there is vague and comes down to “suicides are up, but we are still trying to sort out which is part of the trend of increasing suicide in general and then out of the increasing, what the main drivers are (economic stress, feeling of isolation,"the

I’d agree, but it won’t show up on the death certificate (well, until you go down their path that COVID-19 is going on all death certificates so the hospital can rake in that sweet government money). And, it is usually used as part of their claim that lockdown is killing more people than COVID.

I’ve had some people toss the figure at me that about 20% of those deaths are possibly things like suicides being up (which I think they are still trying to figure out), and people that might not have died if they had gone to the emergency room, but they were afraid.

Because you can still spread it to people that aren’t young and healthy. Because you might have an underlying condition you aren’t aware of yet, maybe a slight heart problem you don’t know about until COVID-19 comes along. Because death isn’t the only bad thing that can happen to you....sure you could live, that

Any other year, vote Green if you want. Heck, this year support Green on a local level.

Fortunately most of them I know live in solid blue states, one is aware of how privileged that position is and admits that “if I lived in a swing state, it would be a harder choice to make”. Dude, fuck that, if you lived in a swing state, then it should be no question!

Even with the understanding of what was going on, I still found it an interesting choice. My time-line is full of Sanders supports that are being very vocal about being in the fence about Biden (many of them were telling me “you better vote blue no matter what” when my preferred candidate dropped out and their’s was

“Anchor babies” is such an awful term anyway, but implying a women with a PhD and her husband working on his needed to have a baby to stay here is especially insane.

I know flannel is a fabric, that’s why I used it as a comparison. A lot of people will call any plaid shirt, especially buffalo check plaid, “a flannel” even if it is not actually made out of flannel fabric. The point is that a common name for something doesn’t necessarily reflect the actual fabric something is made

The problem is you “can’t see exactly what material is used”. For many of them you can. But, it looks like they went with “fleece” for the neck gaiter because, at least to them, neck fleece is another common name for it. Every report where I’ve seen that asks about the fabric, it doesn’t seem like it was actually

Which again, is fine. But, if you look at the study and the tables, it doesn’t even call it a “neck fleece”, but rather just “fleece”. But most of the rest of them are either referred to by fabric type “knitted”, “cotton” “polyprop”, etc. The exceptions would be N95 (which are pretty much just one thing), or bandana

I’ve heard neck gaiters before. But, the study acting like “neck fleece” was the most common name for them is the one that really confused me.

I think fabric is a bigger role here than the gaiter itself. If yours is fleece, it might not be as effective. But, if it is one of the other fabrics out there, and you wear it double layered, it seems like it would be more effective than a bandana and at least as effective as many of the mask designs I’ve seen out

Yeah, I don’t wear mine because it is pretty thin and wouldn’t do much. I’ll stick with my double layer cotton masks.

TomboyX makes one that is almost entirely cotton, so it’s not even like it would have to be random obscure brands doing it.

Yeah, I guess my problem more lies with the lack of science people writing headlines and articles than the actual study. They were mostly clear about what they found. But, almost every single headline has the neck gaiters “worse than nothing”.

This article doesn’t mention what I see as the big problem with the study. It keeps referring to neck gaiters as a “neck fleece” or just fleece, which implies to me the problem is the fabric, not the design of the gaiter itself. A fleece mask would also probably perform badly, but that doesn’t mean masks are “worse

It reminds me of the Jim Gaffigan bit about how everyone has a McDonald's. For some people it might be literally McDonald's, for others it is reality TV. But just shut up and let people enjoy their McDonald's/football, life is too short to care that much about what other people enjoy.

You say it doesn’t help in any way, yet that is how I was able to get an accurate measure at home, because it took into account my actual breast volume and not whatever shape the bra squished them into. Especially if most people are wearing the wrong size bra. And, if I measure in a balconette bra I’m going to get a

Look for encapsulating bras rather than compression bras. UK bras are most likely going to be your friend here (just make sure you pay attention to size. For example I’m an 34I in US sizes, but a 34G in UK). I wear almost exclusively Panache bras, because they work well with my breast placement and shape (bottom heavy
