When I buy a Bronco it will be driven on pavement 99% of the time even though I plan to do at least 4-5 off roading trips a year with it (mild trails to camp away from people, going up to the dunes, snow camp). A stick shift makes the 99% of time I’m driving it on road more interesting and the offroading I will be

Someday son, when you hit puberty, you will realize what it is like to be a man. /snark

Amen, anyone who complains about driving a manual from the last decade in traffic is just being a crybaby.

If driving a manual in traffic is hard, then you’re probably not the sort of person who should own a manual car. It really isn’t hard to do.  If it’s hard for you, then either you need more practice or it simply isn’t your thing.

“I drive a manual too, the problem is, their getting harder and harder to find on new cars. This may offer enough of a compromise that they can replace the standard auto?”

Sure, If you ride other’s peoples asses in traffic and / or have an aftermarket stage X clutch. I’ve been driving manual transmissions for over 20 years in various traffic (NYC, Toronto, Mumbai, Karachi, Naples Italy, Detroit etc) and have NEVER wished I had an automatic. The only time it was bad was when the car in

I was starting to think I was some sort of weirdo because I don’t mind driving a manual in stop and go traffic. I hear it all the time from people “I wish I could own a manual, but I sit in a lot of traffic” and in my head I’m just thinking “So?” I guess to each their own. If driving a boring car bothers someone less

No, it is not a good solution. Just buy a manual. I drive mine in traffic. It is not hard.

Which model can get me to and from Whole Foods the best? I want everyone in the parking lot to think I am outgoing and adventurous.

The jealously... it’s showing in your username.

The Escape is gonna be a lot cheaper than the Bronco Sport. I almost wonder if they’ll take this as an opportunity to move the Escape further down market since this will overlap the upper half of the Escape’s price range.

Jarritos Mandarin is freaking delicious....

Looking great, but it’d be cool if Chevy brought back the Blazer...

I reckon that your username means you actually HAVE driven a Jeep with a folding windshield, which is why I’ll ask you:
1) Which part of the atrocious experience of having sand and wind just smash straight into your face did you enjoy?
2) Did you drive windshield-down at the speeds above 15mph?
3) Just how often do you

Averages are relatively useless in stuff like this because a few really expensive outliers can skew it (see average US salary v median). So what is the MEDIAN new car price, cause that’s what matters.

Ray Charles called, he said “The body kit is ugly and the doors don’t look right”

There’s a huge gulf between those that take bad loans to buy cars and someone that is debt-free and have a million dollars in cash in the bank (if you have a million dollar of cash in a bank, you’re stupid, but that’s a different topic).

If you are smart, you can finance a car at 0% and you won’t get screwed too badly. If you are smarter, you will find a decent used car, pay cash and laugh on the inside when your poor friends talk about car payments.

sounds like you’re in good shape!”

The 5 door Civic that tries so hard to look like a sedan so it doesn’t scare away the sedan-loving American crowd is horrible.
