That’s not really the comparison tho. In the game there’s more enemy encounters, you’re fighting soldiers, infected, cannibals, etc. There’s more combat so the final sequence, while still kinda brutal, is not as jarring.

In the show there’s encounters and Joel kills and talks about having killed, but we don’t really

This is a wild take for the ending, personally I thought the show made Joel even more selfish than he was in the game. That scene where he’s talking about Sarah with Ellie was added and it’s clear that whenever he’s talking to Ellie he just sees Sarah. He mentions they’re different but the first thing he comes up with

Did you get some alternate copy of the episode specifically released to stir shit? Or are you legitimately trolling? I thought you were gonna say “The show makes it unambiguous that Joel is a monster, which is unfortunate” even though that was already plain as day in the game, but you’ve somehow come away with the

Gonna be honest, this is a pretty wild read that makes me think the division caused by the ending will not be mitigated at all. Because to me, I was thinking during the finale: “Wow Joel comes off even worse here than in the game.” Especially because the show, for the most part, has avoided Joel being depicted as a

I havent played the game. I was kind of aware of how it ended before hand.

Does Nintendo realize that shovelware crap like this keeps me from even looking at the eShop because I have no desire to do their job of curating the quality from the crap?

Well, at least they did the right thing and prioritized getting it into the hands of the online bot scalpers and not the gamers that waited in line in the cold to preorder.

I dunno, the knife was more like a first resort to me, lol. To save ammo, I would use the TMP to just pop an enemy in the face once to stagger them, allowing you a melee opening. Then after knocking them down I would go to town with the knife while they were lying on the ground haha. Plus it was funny to do

My biggest gripe is how the hell Riley found out about the fatalities

The discourse around 2, made me see how many people misinterpreted the entire story/ending and how they couldn’t separate the character of Joel from that of a stereotypical game protagonist.

I must be lucky, because I use the same old ass gas and my mower starts right up after a handfull of pulls. Then 1 or 2 pulls every mow after that.

I think backtracking causes annoyance because modern social media and just changes in little societal things make everyone feel like they need to move on to the next thing.  Metroid is literally a metroidvania, backtracking is a huge portion of it.  Ive fallen into the, beat the game and move on to the next one.

Depending on the game, I don’t mind save points. It mostly hasn’t bothered me in the Metroid series, and is definitely a facet of them. In fact it can really add to the intensity of the game, when you have explored far into unknown territory and are low on health and desperately hoping that every room you open will

What a weird way to position the PSVR2 as if it’s only intended audience is children. There are... literally millions of grown adults that play games on consoles and I assume some percentage of them are interested in a VR headset.

I don’t think Joel was a shitty person but had clearly done shitty things.  It just caught up with him.

that’s the whole point of the game tho. Who’s the real villain? how far do we need to go for the ones we love? we follow (spoilers.....)

Joel and he’s the “hero” but he essentially murders an innocent doctor and the dad of Abby and also kills MAD people just to save Ellie who’s supposedly could save the world. Dont

Not what I said. Stop looking for reasons to be a victim.

Self-reflection will make a lot of people uneasy, but especially capital ‘G’ Gamers.

hmm. I’d like to see if sales fell across the board, or if the type of game matters. For example, I’m a fan of Jurassic World Evolution 2, which I totally plan to buy once it leaves GP, but that game is kind of open-ended, make-your-own-fun kind of deal. But I wouldn’t pay for, let’s say, Immortality which I finished

Anytime someone says the graphics are going to be better on a switch game, my brain goes to “ok, what did you sacrifice for this?”  I find that after a few hours my appreciation for graphical quality falls away and performance better hold up.
