Yeah I’ve read that theory of the snap causing the mutations elsewhere, and it would work. It would even explain why people hate mutants so much: they’d have gotten their powers from the event that killed off 50% of the population.

The showrunners have said that they didn’t know when this season is going to air, so they didn’t want to spoil Endgame. Their explanation is that this is all “pre-snap” and that they’re not going to spend time ironing out the timeline difficulties.

I don’t claim (nor have I claimed) that the timeline makes any sense. Even if it doesn’t make sense, the official position is that the show is somehow still part of the same shared universe. It’s not like they haven’t goofed up and retconned the timeline before anyway, as the official timeline was produced in response

That was needlessly hostile. Here’s an actual quote from the actual showrunners:

They’ve said that this takes place before Infinity War. The showrunners knew the plot of Endgame but didn’t know when the show was going to air so they didn’t want to spoil it.

I wouldn’t say Mystique was a minor character in the comics, but she was a villain, not a member of the X-Men. Making the character a hero because everyone loves J-Law annoyed me.

They were part of the tribunal at the end, along with the Kree and Shi’ar, but that’s about it.

The Shi’ar are always trying to destroy the Phoenix Force, though. I wanted her to be Mastermind instead of a bargain-bin ersatz skrull.

That and the Infinity Gauntlet wasn’t really an Avengers story, and the few Avengers that appeared in it were mostly perfunctory to the plot.

Throw in a gay R2-D2 and you’ve got yourself a movie!

I bought one the other day. It really is just a cardboard slipcase that goes over the regular “non-meme” cover. You can just throw it away if you don’t like it.

Yes.

Er, Marvel has been publishing Conan comics again since January.

Yeah, the ratio of bad EU material to good is like 10 to 1. They were right to chuck all of it.

There was barely an internet, even. I suppose if you dug deep into the archives of some of the older newsgroups you might find some whining, but even then it would probably be relatively minor.

Game of Thrones - the T-Shirt, Game of Thrones - the Coloring Book, Game of Thrones - the Lunch Box, Game of Thrones - the Breakfast Cereal, Game of Thrones - the Flame Thrower...the kids love this one.

So Yummsh was close, is what you’re saying.

Here’s a snake eating its own tail!

Yup it was somewhere around 1999-2001
