Good take. I like this idea. I own a 2013 Chevy Volt because it was the economically sensible thing to do in my situation. While I do love the car, I originally wanted a Ford Focus ST... Dream would have been a Corvette...

That’s very true and part of why I’m glad at our plant we haven’t had to lay people off when machines are brought in to automate. 1 machine can replace multiple production people but a single engineer along with a maintenance person will cover multiple machines. So you could have 1 maintenance guy and 1 engineer

Neutral: For most people economics more than environment will impact their car buying decision.

Agreed. I’m a supply chain guy working as an analyst at a manufacturing facility and automation is the name of the game. Either learn to maintain the machines or become an engineer to design the machines.

I work at a plant that makes disposable respirators. Can confirm that nasty pollution in cities *cough*Beijing*cough* does wonders for our sales.

This makes me sad. I always liked these. My wife thought they were ugly and said NO when we were shopping for family cars 3 years ago. Then she sat in one and it was by far more comfortable than any other cars we tried. If there would have been one in our price range when shopping we would have bought it instead of

Not a car, but I was the only kid at my high school in Cali that rode a motorcycle... 1981(?) Kawasaki KZ 750. This was my first bike.

Not sure whether to be proud or sad that it took me until the 3rd sentence to start hearing Ariel’s voice in my head singing this...

Neutral: I currently drive a 16 year old Honda Accord on it’s last legs. I will need to replace my car in the next 2-3 years. I want a performance car and I make slightly above average income for the US.

When I read “The Toyota Camry of Delivering Tofu: the Toyota AE86" I erroneously thought of the new GT86. The Jimmy John’s near our apartment has a delivery driver that uses a “Hot Lava” colored FR-S for delivering sandwiches...

3rd Gear: I think it does but they should keep the current Corvette. Why can’t the keep what they already have and just launch a new mid-engine car called something else?

Someone took a video of the video on a screen. If you notice the date stamp on the top left of the screen at the beginning doesn’t move as the screen pans right. Then the list of cameras at the store is visible once the screen gets far enough right. It’s just a very wide angle security camera it seems.

10 years ago my first bike was an ‘81 Kawasaki KZ750. Sold that after I graduated high school and my dad, two brothers, and me took an ‘84 and an ‘85 Honda Goldwing on a 3,364.9 mile trip that summer. Sold those within two weeks of getting back and got a ‘94(?) Triumph Tiger 900.

Nothing wrong with having more options. Some people would like the larger engines while others want the smaller. At 5'9" and just 135lbs, I wouldn’t want anything much heavier than a 400 lb bike. The FZ-07 or the 800cc Scrambler are at the top of my list if my 16 year old Honda Accord dies anytime soon *crossing
