As a citizen of the UK and Australia, I see the monarchy as a symbol of nothing but entitlement and outdated nonsense. A peaceful transfer of power is not a remotely impressive feat when the transfer is from a parent to their child.

As yet another Canadian, I think having a monarch serves as an ongoing symbol of the colonization we are, in theory, trying to address through reconciliation.

Yes, they took money, resources and artifacts from other people all over the world, while living off of the money of regular working citizens. The concept of royalty should be abolished and these people should get real jobs.

The concept of royalty is disgusting, especially in 2017, and they are literally living off of money and things they stole from other countries for centuries as well as money given to them by regular working citizens. How anyone could continue to support that is beyond me, but obviously I am not “logical” so...

Hey now friend, there are other reasons to visit England. It’s absolutely beautiful for starters and it’s the birthplace of some of the greatest bands in the world, so we have a vibrant music scene. Don’t forget all those ancient monuments. Even the food isn’t as bad as it once was.

Another Canadian here. I think the monarchy is useless. The Constitution makes a better symbol of the law, and there are literally thousands of excellent reasons to visit England or any other country in the UK.

Also as a Canadian, the monarchy is an outdated institution and a waste of money. The security costs alone when they come to “visit” is absurd.

When the Queen does die, it’s going to veerry interesting to see what happens with the monarchy.
