It’s kind of odd to me that she can’t really escape the virgin/whore dichotomy mindset though. She tries so hard to fit into the goodgirl/badgirl trope in extremes, so that when she’s “good,” she’s an angel, virginal, and when she’s playing “bad,” it’s always the S&M clothes.

But in that stance is their whiteness separate from their femaleness? Because as a woman of color my femaleness and being a person of color is not separate, it’s intersectional.

White women have a ton more privilege than women of color and you can’t just deny that.

She is just another celebrity white feminist who is only in it for herself.

Yep. I read too fast. My bad. *facepalms*

“Look what you MADE me do” isn’t standing up for yourself. It’s victim mentality. Also she lied and got caught. She didn’t get “made” into a victim, she’s always the victim.

How is “Role you made me play” “Look what YOU made ME do” not a victim mentality....???

How is “Role you made me play” “Look what YOU made ME do” not a victim mentality....???

Exactly. “Look what you MADE me do, you lied, it’s not my fault” isn’t playing the villain at all....Why would

“Look what you MADE me do” isn’t openly playing a wheel. It’s still victim mentality.

I think she is great for negotiating a pay gap, but people can dislike her white feminist, I’m a cool gal hollywood empowerment garbage while acknowledging her not so shitty actions.

It’s so fucking old to say that women who are expressing their sexuality voluntarily, you know, cause they want to and they can, are doing it “for attention.” I fucking hate Amy S and her white feminism crap but this bugs me so much. There’s a difference between voluntary expression of sexuality and involuntary

Can’t stand her and Lena Dunham’s “we’re the COOL girls” white feminist idiot shtick.

Oh man. I know opinions are opinions but if you think Emilia Clarke has “serious acting chops,” I can’t even. And I think it’s pretty clear to the majority of the game of thrones subreddit that she can’t act, so I don’t know what you’ve been reading.

It’s a very old photo, but still, if they were both in character during the shoot I feel like it’s sort of fair game as actors.

I can’t fucking stand Daenerys as a character. The actress’s diction and voice alone are horrible, which means that even the OK words are not delivered strongly enough and sound flat.

Yeah that’s honestly a fucking first from a celebrity. I usually never, ever buy into any “celebrity empowerment/feminism” bullshit but this one genuinely touched me. And that says a lot if you knew what I knew.

I agree. Unlike Lady Gaga, who has no qualms about turning around and working with R. Kelly repeatedly, and hiring Terry Richardson to shoot her photo book.

Honestly, I don’t blame that person for not wanting to believe a celebrity’s statement. Most of the “celebrity feminists” are super chummy with abusers and are complicit about the whole industry abuse despite what they claim to be “outraged” about. I always shake my head when I see comments immediately convinced when

I actually see where you are coming from because most celebrity “feminists” are super chummy with abusers & complict in their abuse even if they try to appear like they are “outraged” by injustice against women. I do think the statement from Bree shows that she’s not afraid to speak up, though, because I’ve seen from
