Can’t speak for anyone else, but hell yeah I thought bahkerk was unhinged. I believed her at first about not being digbette because people get accused of being others all the time but after a while those long winded screeds made it obvious. Read more

TL;DR - I joined GOMI because I was getting a TON of burners on every post (most had “GOMI” in their names), and wanted to know what was up. I combed the site and found all of the nasty shit they said about me, and the fact that GT’s mods silenced anyone who even spoke a breath of GOMI. Read more

I don’t know why this account followed me. I’m only vaguely aware of the GOMI stuff, and I’m pretty sure I’m not prolific or important enough of a commenter to have been bashed over there.

I’m oblivious and a lot of this drama went completely over my head, so idk what-all happened. I’ve missed you, though, Miss M :)

I stopped posting on GT long before I found out about GOMI. I only found out when checking my blog traffic sources and found all the discussions about me. At first it was upsetting. Read more

This blog is a nice gesture and I do appreciate being included. However I agree that having it on kinja, a public space where our talks can still be read widely, is not a good idea. If this group moves to a more private forum or group, let me know and I’d be glad to join.

I agree with Snack. I mean, I don’t even view myself as a victim. Yes they were mean, they mocked my personal appearance (pineapple head forever), my weight, my writing, they said I went to Yale (I never said I went to Yale, I just live in New Haven), and really hurt GTers I know IRL. Yet. I kind of think im a victor, Read more

YOU GUISE. EVERYONE. SERIOUSLY. THERE IS NO “SAFE” SPACE ON THE INTERNETS. STAHP. THAT IS ALL.

I have to agree with Kirov here. I understand the not wanting to do a Mod Talk post (and can’t blame you for not doing it!), however GOMI did use that to their advantage; hurting members of GT fully knowing there was nothing warning unsuspecting people of what was going on a few clicks away. But I am happy to see GT’s Read more

I disagreed (and disagree) with the approach you guys took, but your kind words to the OP are nice to read, and appreciated by me too.

I’d highly advise taking this conversation anywhere but Kinja (Facebook was a good suggestion, maybe even GroupMe). The last time I talked about GOMI in another Kinja similar to this one, burners started sprouting up out of nowhere all over again. Read more

Not to be the ‘well, actually’ person, but it bears reminding that publicly accessible websites are *not* safe spaces. Quite a bit of personal information can still be gleaned from them (even IPs, if someone is truly motivated). Read more

No offense, I’ve been harassed for weeks by pro-gomi and anti-gomi factions and to be honest, I really have serious gomi fatigue. I’m tired of talking about them. You are welcome certainly to do what you on your own page and talk to whomever is on here, but I’m unsharing it simply because I’m tired of having GOMI shit Read more

I hope you (and others who were harassed) will feel comfortable in coming back to enjoy GT again. Be kind to yourself; I really wish you well.
