I've been playing Gears of War 4 which is basically just another Gears of War game. I do like how aggressive the enemies are and how there's a bit more variety than previous entries. It's actually more useful to match that aggression with running-and-gunning as opposed to sitting behind cover the whole game.

I've listened to it now. It does feel like the more atmospheric/gentle companion to Not the Actual Events. Which is great for me, since that's always been one of my favorite aspects of NIN: the way they juxtapose beauty/melodies with the industrial stuff. I think I like This Isn't the Place and The Background World

When Popeye's monthly special is some shrimp bullshit I consider it a waste of a month. Their chicken is great, I ain't tryna eat fast food shrimp

Haven't listened to all of Add Violence yet, but I thought This Isn't the Place was way better than Less Than, which was basically "generic NIN single".

It's a shame this is the same weekend as pitchfork, because other than the shitty nu metal there were a surprising amount of great bands this year

So just another exercise in making a popular 90s song sound as much like generic modern EDM as possible?

My complaint about LCD remains the same as its been all year: I know they were never known for mixing up their sets too much, but would it kill them to learn a few more songs from their back catalog? They've essentially been playing the same 15 or so songs for the entire reunion. I know at this point they've added a

well yeah, he's not even a good rapper by any measure, let alone a reasonable substitute for the likes of Danny Brown or MF Doom

Just felt like there was way more space reserved for VIP/Plus people.

I thought it was great, lots of great sets, but it felt more poorly run than previous years. Maybe oversold? Lines for things were ridiculous.

I've seen lots of bands five or so times, in part because I go to a lot of festivals, but the bands I've seen the most are Of Montreal and Umphrey's Mcgee, who I've seen ten times each. The former because they're one of my favorites and they tour constantly, hitting up my city about once a year, and the latter because

haha, indeed.

fuck alcohol distributors and the archaic laws that keep them a necessary part of the process.

The Spyro games were definitely much better.

repetitive lyrics in general? for sure. but it's not like he's just chanting the title of the song. the chorus of Head Like a Hole is

As also a big fan, I'm struggling to think of examples of this. I mean sure, the title of the songs are generally taken from the chorus (like most songs), but other than "every day is exactly the same" and "came back haunted" i can't think of many other songs where he does it repeatedly… certainly not "almost always"

And because Reznor and collaborator Atticus Ross are, like everyone else, acutely aware of the shitshow surrounding us these days, they’re calling the EP Add Violence.

Especially in Galaxy 2, there are plenty of levels in those games that switch between 2D and 3D platforming, much like Crash.

I wholeheartedly disagree

What really irks me with this one is what they're including with it. The Korok tracking mask absolutely should have been in the base game, and the map tracking thing (and hard mode, for that matter) is another feature that should just be a free patch
