It’s not a bait and switch but it’s 100% a PR stunt. If you have internet to order, you don’t need Starlink! Starlink is still profiting off sales of the equipment. The equipment needs to be delivered to a hurricane ravaged area in a timely manner for the offer to be meaningfully impactful.

It really won’t be. The dream of fully automated vehicles with no change in infrastructure is completely unrealistic. If the vision is a future where you don’t have to drive yourself, trains and busses already exist. Update that tech and expand service.
