It baffles those of us who support the ACA, medicaid-for-all, and single-payer, etc.. Now imagine trying to make these very obvious and common sense points about health care to people who can’t be convinced it is right because of “nanny-state,” and high taxes (even though we would actually save money). It’s

That .gif went a little too far for me, but I appreciate the sentiment it conveys.

This is the only news that matters. Unless of course you have a reality show and beauty line planned, and then this news is very disappointing.

I forget which Senator was speaking, but on NPR they interviewed him and basically he said that if they don’t pass it now, they’ll obstruct on tax cuts in the spring and try again to introduce another healthcare repeal (that’s what it is, not just the bogeyman of Obamacare, but healthcare in general). So hard-line

I feel that many countries are perfectly fine with Dotard and his presidency. Some may even be downright giddy with joy at his “leadership.”

The worst is that they absolutely do not believe they are racists. I know many of these people, have argued with them and called them out, but the one thing that bothers them is if you call them racist.

It’s not just low-information, it’s willfully ignorant, educated persons too.

And as a person with a PhD who works with many other PhD’s, and whose husband’s best friend is a doctor, I can fully endorse this comment. I work with PhD’s who are profoundly stupid.

Oh I’ve fucked off plenty. Thank you for descending from the heavens to pass judgment on something that is not your business nor do you have any deep knowledge about. Telling someone their life and how they experience it doesn’t matter because you decided you know more is a terrible thing and you have no moral

I feel bullied by that dress.

Oh shut up.

I agree with you. My parents were the same, in fact I can’t even remember being spanked but I know I was. Actually, now remembering: I was spanked by my father when I fell into a pig pen after he had specifically told me to stay away from the pigpens. A momma had just had babies. Pigs are dangerous and can kill a

My 2-year old daughter is the same, without fear or thought and she’s a runner. I’ve whapped her on the ass several times, because I was scared and because I wanted her to know that those actions are dangerous. I never hurt anything except her feelings, and she was more mad than scared (but quickly got over it and she

I know. My experience tells me though, that we are all potential criminals or even current substance abusers, and we’ve been lucky enough to not get caught.

A totally under-appreciated film.

Yeah, when I taught high school history, I used a lesson from the textbook on dividing the class into two groups and having them defend the Northern and Southern cause of the Civil War. In retrospect, it just reinforced pre-existing biases (I taught in Florida). I was a new teacher and didn’t know what the hell I was

I’m conflicted because I hate to doubt real accusations, but I’m also with you: there are no real accusations here and we all know how rumors work. However, there is also CK’s power and influence to consider, so real accusations, if they exist, may not ever come to light or be Cosby’ed (they don’t come out until he’s

I try not to listen to him (prefer to read his rants) but I listened to some of his UN speech and my gods, the slurring and weird pronunciations. He’s on something, right?

I’m with you except for your last piece, on past drug use or criminal convictions. I know some fine people with past drug or criminal dealings and they would make great defenders of our country.
