I was at that field last year for this same tournament. where that ball landed is def around 375. it’s a loooong way to the top of that hill.

My guess is the exit velocity on that was around 85-90mph. with the pitcher about 40 feet away (rubber is 46ft, so with following through prob 40ft) there is just no way to react in time, no matter what position you’re in.

age cut off is April 30. so he turned 13 between May 1 and today. little league has moved the cutoff back by around 6 months (and changed bat requirements effective 1/1/2018) for that reason — to basically save lives.
