The guy hit 488 career doubles and somehow people are surprised that he still knows how to find his way to second base.
The guy hit 488 career doubles and somehow people are surprised that he still knows how to find his way to second base.
nothing to do with statistics. you made the general statement
Black on black crime goes unpunished by the media and by politicians; no one cares about the blight of impoverished black citizens offing each otehr. The justice system may punish the offender, but the mob mentality of #blacklivesmatter neglects to see the pandemic problems of urban black communities that create…
1) Where’s the strawman? Are you arguing black lives only matter when they’re taken by a white police officer?
Greg, can you provide more than ad hominem when decrying this statement? Thx
You’re a brave and principled hero. Just like Max Read and Tommy Craggs.
You’re not Hunter S. Thompson. Hunter S. Thompson is dead. Quit trying to be Hunter S. Thompson.
But this isn’t the first time Gawker Media has stumbled back into hypocrisy when called out. Jezebel posts article after article about women who refuse to call themselves feminists but when it is called out about shitty behavior (like posting rape videos) falls back on the ‘oh, but we’re not feminist’ as the excuse.…
Gawker is and never was “journalism”. At this point, it seems more and more like a cult, actually. The way some people are throwing down for a fucking blog is what’s really disturbing here.
It will give way as soon as Tommy shows even an ounce of remorse for destroying someone's life for no real reason other than because he could.
It seemed to hit Gawker really hard when they discovered that there were other websites on the internet and some of those websites had more readers and/or better content. To this day, they seem to regard it as some sort of betrayal when any of “their” commenters admit that they peruse those “enemy” websites.
So basically, he has free reign, is what you are saying. His values = whatever he does, should be done with no consequence, because its his value?
I really don’t, but I don’t think they left in defense of any type of journalism, so much as they did over the hypocrisy of Gawker Media letting the sales executives overrule edit
I really hate this running theme in all of the Gawker posts about how all of the outside criticism is coming from MRA’s/Gamergaters/Generic Reddit Trolls. Even former writers like Adam Weinstein and Lindy West cant help but bring it up almost compulsively. Everyone seems so enchanted by the victimhood of having the…
You’re like Sam Casell on the 2008 Celtics. Or Justin Holliday on the 2014 Warriors. :D
This is the first sensible commentary to come out of Gawker since the whole fiasco last week.
“Years later, David Geithner’s children would look back on the day that ruined their family forever and remark that it wasn’t a total loss - ‘a bunch of awful people realized the value of friendship, at least.’ ”
Will there be a Gawker flag for those that died for this flawed and immoral cause? Sort of like the Confederate flag for talentless hacks unable to get hired elsewere?
Can the Gawker writers please get back to work? Reddit stories aren’t going to re-post themselves on your site.
Tough to claim you’re on the right side of history when you just outed and gay-shamed a man and his family for no reason at all.
