I went to Tucson this Friday to blow my wad (of cash) on a pile of video games. Came back with Halo 4, Mass Effect 3, Diddy Kong Racing, Bloody Roar Extreme, Dead Space 2, and one of the Tiger Woods golf games for the PSP.

I haven’t played Mario Kart 8 in forever, but I recall really liking Mount Wario, the ski resort stage. It doesn’t even have laps... you just slide down a snowy hill for the duration of the race! So great.

I started using Nintendont on my Wii U, but you’re right, it takes so long to start playing GameCube games that it’s not worth the bother. Using an ordinary Wii shaves five minutes off the start up time, and it makes a difference when you’re jonesing for some Mario Kart Double Dash action.
