Far too many American businesses seem to think customers OWE them patronage.

I get what you're saying, but compare Polestar and Tesla: Volvo's software is shitty, the Polestar and on-brand EVs use way too much power per distance. Tesla leaves them in the dust. So, yes, Volvo needs to do better on software - too.

In many states, including mine, the troopers will pull people over for sitting in the left lane even if they are doing the speed limit. The left lane is for passing. That’s the law. If you’re sitting in the left lane and there’s a long line of traffic behind it’s more of a safety concern than a bunch of drivers doing

I’m not going to ascribe a percentage of responsibility to either driver, but it should be noted that in addition to the brake checking, the truck also sped up to block the lane and prevent the Accord from completing its dangerous maneuver.

I don't think people are comparing. Raptor? Asshole. Honda? Asshole. Guy cheering for someone getting hurt? Asshole.

It’s unclear if the two had had a prior run-in on the road, or if the truck driver simply didn’t want the sedan getting ahead.

Cd is both great and useless to the owner. I want to know the Hp/watts lost to drag at 60 mph at standard atmospheric conditions. I can get all the rest. With Cd, no way. I need to know what section area the Cd is based on; and then I have a bunch more work to do. What I really care about is how hard/how much fuel is

nonononono.

The big difference is that, with Tesla, the price you agree to is the price you wind up paying. There’s no, “oops, we’re going to charge you more now.”

Did BMW introduce EVs too early?”

The i3 REX could also have been made much more useful with a 8 gallon fuel tank instead of it’s <2 gallon tank, with the appropriate software to cycle the engine to keep the battery charged. It would have then been a legit competitor to the Chevy Volt.

the biggest problem with the i3 was not the electric range, it was the fact that the range extender couldn’t keep the battery charged (i.e. even when running as hard as it could, it couldn’t recharge faster than the battery depleted in normal driving) forcing you to still stop and recharge on a long trip.

I think if

He picked one of the least efficient and lowest-range BEVs available in the US today, which didn’t help.

EVs don’t have head gaskets, so I’m just wondering what Achilles heel they’re going to saddle these things with to ensure the essence of “Subaru” carries through, despite the shared platform w/Toyota.

If there are too many cars there, yes, they are not charging enough.

didnt see BMW E90 on the list. instead i saw a bunch of shitboxes

Older couple (dammit, we’re getting there too) should go CPO on something with all the safety doohickies. Rear cross traffic, no-squash pedestrian braking, auto-emergency braking. Reflexes are slower, peripheral vision is declining, and this other factor I discovered reading:

Here’s the full inspection in Michigan:

Literally do nothing.

Yes, and he’s right. The statute is design to punish worse dealers who go “Oh, we changed your oil and replaced your fuel filter,” but didn’t DO that. It is not designed to punish ordinary negligence in “oh, we changed your oil, but did it poorly.” One represents a fraud on the customer, the other is just negligent.

I have a 2002 Ford with no BT or Aux.
