There's a lot of argument that the effect of social media on the Arab Spring is greatly overstated. Arguments starting with "you don't post where your protest against a brutal regime is going to take place on Twitter, because then they have tanks there before you arrive"

"Boiled down, a journalist’s job is to call bullshit—on those in power, on institutions, on agendas." This is a great thing that is great when journalists do it, but it's weird that this not true thing has become and accepted fact.
