I know somone who worked on the 787(?) wing layup design. He siad they were very happy that the wings broke almost exactly where and when expected in the destructive test. And they broke in the way the models had predicted. Very cool stuff

It also worth noting that the numbers for LEDs are given at certain operating temperature, it may not matter as much for tail lights but for some LEDs it is important to have a good heat sink to be ensure the LED functions as designed and doesn’t burn out prematurely.
