Heh. Well my comment was more related to the fact that early in their career they were compared to The Housemartins, which inspired them to throw in a a bit of "Happy Hour" into their song "Hello City".

I thought The Housemartins were the original Barenaked Ladies.

I'm pretty sure his decision to work on this movie was pretty much inspired by the ideas put forth in that movie.
