This is a good development for humanity, and I also think it will lead to a decline in attendance/attention paid to sports. Dad can’t come home from work and tune into the game and ignore his significant other and/or children until bedtime anymore.
Not only did older generations had more free time, they had fewer entertainment options. Its the inverse for millennials: less free time and more entertainment options, with the most popular being the least scheduled. One doesn’t have to make time for on-demand streaming video services.
Except for maybe the 2005 Stanley Cup Finals.
When the play stops in the NHL, it STOPS.
+1 Woozzle Wuzzle.
Outside of the surviving members of the Ford family and the editorial board of the Toronto Sun, I don’t see a team in Toronto being that welcome as it would upset:
-The Buffalo Bills who would see their fanbase in southwest Ontario poached
-The CFL and cultural nationalists who would regard it as an invasion
-Canadian…

And how.
I’m still pissed to this day at the schaudenfreude expressed by Raptor fans who claim that the Grizzlies moved to Memphis because of poor fan support in Vancouver and bad front office decisions, when in reality Michael Heisley had absolutely no intention of keeping the team here.
Also, anyone who thinks that Canadians…
Toronto FC is a Toronto sports team, who no one cares about outside the 416.
During the MLS Cup, Vancouver was squarely behind the Sounders (who insisted that we be included in MLS) against TFC/MLSE (who wanted exclusive MLS rights in Canada and routinely get to pull shady shit in the Voyageurs Cup national…
Well, not completely...
Canada has negotiated a trade agreement with the European Union...which should have at least a few countries in it by the time it’s implemented....
Plus we have the whole “turn our Pacific Coast into a Toxic Bitumen Cesspool before China loses interest in importing Unprocessed Fossil Fuels” thing…
“All “right-to-work” does is allow workers whether or not they want to be a part of a union that operates at a particular company.”
So does letting those workers quit and work for poorer wages and benefits somewhere else if they’re that unhappy.
Many of the benefits enjoyed by many workers, such as Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, Health Insurance, Pensions, Paid Overtime, Vacations and Pay & Employment Equity started with Unions organizing and bargaining to gain those benefits.

I haven’t been able to find the relevant dimensions, but prior to the renovations, BC Place hosted several MLB exhibition games and some of the Vancouver Canadians (AAA) games, with no issues concerning the size of the field. The issue may not be field dimensions as much as the second-largest video board in North…
Would those dimensions be before the 2011 renovations? Seating capacity was reduced from 60,000 to 55,000, with the new seating raked at a higher angle, which should open up some space.
Throw in a Green Monster - style wall in Right Field, being located at Sea Level and damper Vancouver air, and it’s a little less of a…
“There’s nothing available in the Northwest”
Unless you’re willing to settle for something built in 1983 to attract MLB and received massive renovations in 2011, and includes:
-55,000 seats
-a retractable roof
-prime downtown location and easy public transit access
-adjacent casino/resort (coming soon)
-potential TV market…
