And also, 20K for something with 129 HP is downright laughable.

I think the package was mislabeled with the state of “MO” instead of “MI”. The “M” states get mixed up ALL THE TIME.

Seems likely that some fucking CHUD manager in Kentucky thought MI stood for Missouri and tried to send the engine to a non-existent address.

The whole point of insurance on a UPS package seems ridiculous to me. In what other industry do you have to pay extra money, to ensure that the company is responsible for the service you’re already paying them to complete?

Having worked for UPS and from what I know, even if the package had shed its label, there’s a whole huge department just for that purpose. They are supposed to look up the item anyway they can, make a new label and send it on its way. Something more is going on and its UPS’ fault.

this is big as dieselgate

Sonuvabitch.

Which Texas state government official is using this as part of his or her reelection campaign?

I dont know - I’ve made like 10-15k renting my house out during F1... others are probably in the same boat as well. I think the economic impact is pretty high, although trending downwards a bit because its just not as “cool” as it was on year 1 - locally and internationally.

The problems at COTA and between COTA and Eccelstone have little to do with anything other than Epstein et al being dishonest and greedy. Tavo Hellmund was the brain-power behind COTA and as soon as the facility was in place Epstein forced him out, this in turn caused Eccelstone to kill the sweetheart deal he had with

Monaco, at least, has the benefit of not paying a hosting fee and having control of all the track advertising signage. I’m sure Bernie would like to get rid of it but it’s F1’s signature event so he’s stuck for now.

Bernie needs to be replaced with a group of experts who know the sport and the costs and don’t think solely about money.

it’s impressive how F1’s and Ecclestone’s % of profits are not even called into question. F1 is a money-losing proposition for all who host it.. and yet countries and communities are bending over backwards to build tracks and try. My very own birthtown of Monza, the O.G. of F1.. has now run out of money and not able

HI COTA HOW ARE YOU DOING SAY DO YOU HAVE A WEEKEND OPENING UP?

Show me an F1 race, besides Monaco, that isn’t at risk to some degree under Bernie’s twisted dictatorship. He plays this game year after year and it is very unsavory. He is a shrewd businessman but also an unlikeable douchenozzle.

I have a hard time dredging up sympathy after the dicking around the track management did when after they took buckets of tax money and stopped HPDE, track days and other ‘lower class’ things for the more upscale, mega rich Texas snobs.

If your whole plan rests on Bernie not actively screwing you over a barrel, you

Really? Losing confidence over COTA after just one bad F1 race? What a bunch of cowards! Guess what? Not every future event will be better than the last; there are ebbs and flows, valleys and mountains. Fix the F1 calendar so that Mexico isn’t anytime near Austin and then see what attendance is like.
