Wait, what? Batman was a heir to wealthy parents who were murdered? WTF io9??? That deserves a spoiler warning.

Alternate universe take (Injustice), but even in-universe characters think there’s something more to their relationship.

I expect the fundamentalist backlash any moment now.

Not disputing or objecting to any of this.

It’s also the first DC movie since 2008 that’s actually good.

Maybe not supported by any of the movies (though Ledger was a little clingy), but definitely thoughout the comics. Decades of “you complete me” and “you’re the Bat King and I am your Jester” made this kind of movie inevitable.

It’s easy:

Overconfident, Idiot Batman is my favorite Batman.

I want to see this movie. But no one I know wants to go.
