You don't need to use the internal storage to get the performance boost on games like Ghost of Tsushima and God of War. You only need the internal storage to install the PS5 specific version, such as with Spiderman Miles Morales. 

You were already able to use external storage for backwards compatible games from Day One, and still get performance enhancements where applicable. The inability to do the same for next gen games at the start really wasn’t a big deal if you only grabbed a handful of such games (let’s face it, there isn’t much yet...).

The original Crysis was remade on CryEngine 3 with a lot of visual downgrades to run on the 360 and PS3. The VTOL level was cut from those versions for performance reasons too. The PS3 version would often chug and go below 20 fps as well. 

Crysis started as a PC exclusive and was never on the OG xbox. It was later remade on CryEngine 3 for the 360 and PS3, with a lot of downgrades to achieve 720p and 30 fps (which was often not met on the PS3 lol).

They're ok. Fun but not all that replayable. The nano suit was also not all that useful in the first game as it drained far too quickly.

Exactly. I encountered a ton of game breaking bugs during the Xbox/PS2/GameCube era and would’ve killed for patching capability back then. The ability to patch games is a net positive on all the consoles since that era. 

It’s been available for Mac and Linux for years, but yes, Windows is more or less required for the “full” AAA experience. In fact, games are literally the only reason why I have a Windows installation on my PC at all.
