This show is a homage to pulpy detective noir where, yes, every character had similar styles of speech. Everyone has been so ready to shit on this show this season and it's getting obnoxious.

I love this show but the above promo pic in this article makes me cringe. Mainly Summer's "so wise" smirk that has adorned every single Dreamworks movie for the past ten years.
