Since you said it, it’s pretty obvious you should go learn about the long and horrible historical outcomes of what the masses think is true. The majority opinion is almost always the path of ignorant least resistance and gutless folly.
Click-bait title, inaccurate hit-piece, low hanging fruit, etc., the self-loathing white woman tells us about a non-existent issue in relation to these terrible white men not “perfectly” entertaining us along “Party” lines. Anything related to “white” is fair game as long as white looks bad in the end and you get…
Nice to see the folks reading here setting this stupid shit straight. It’s appreciated.
Luke could have killed them off, possibly died while doing it. Oh, my bad, action with a purpose isn’t for the new SW-discard-the-past-universe. Marketing is all!

he believed everything that happened was “completely consensual.
Thank goodness robots will be doing all the outside work by then.

Hey, that’s great. I stand by his summary minus the mean stuff, I don’t like it either. I’m a big fan of women and have all of their records. I do tend to fall on the Mary Sue side of Rey, she is not adequately challenged the way Luke was and he also makes a point of explaining and illustrating his point. Her…
You wanted me to compare and explain. I offer this because it mirrors my thoughts while actually watching the flick TLJ. Now please let me add a (caveat/but) if I may. This guy is non-PC all the way, sometimes offensive in trying to be funny. I like all of that, but meanness towards women, no. But still, he does…
Can I just say politely, far too many people arguing this movie on line make asumptions like “you’ve never experienced x.” My advice is don’t do that since it’s almost never the case. I just don’t want to be exhaustive in detail.
Uh, yes, it does. (see how that works) you’ve admitted to having bad taste (with those two anyway) which has improved and that’s laudable. Most people improve in retrospect cinematically speaking and if they’re paying attention. Liking is a wholly subjective experience so we can both say what we want about it with no…
Those are only two of the things that can score one a Mary Sue. Rey never substantially fails, never, she pulls everything off and is never substantially challenged. The minor pitfalls she faces are never severe, never require an inventory within. She’s a shallow cardboard character with far too many powers and…
Liking a movie when you see it means it was well made.
Totally inappropriate? She ticks a few boxes for Mary Sue-ness on some lists of Mary Sue traits. I’ve seen the argument that she’s just naturally good at piloting, fighting, lightsaber-fighting, multiple languages, and using the esoterica of the Force and bending it to her will. All just natural and ready to go.
Many of those things are not “mistakes” and the moniker of Mary Sue fits in regards to her super advanced skill with a lightsaber and mastery of the force in ‘three easy lessons.’ It’s even more glaring in TLJ.
I always expect this to make the top of the list. I guess the design of what has been shoved up one’s rectum really does matter.
