Parents at Pleasant Run Middle School outside of Cincinnati, Ohio received a memo from vocal music teacher Steven Reeves, who is black.

You know these idiots think that an afro, braid, dread or lock of hair that isn’t bone straight is “gang” hair. Anything related to blackness is always against the dress code.

I’m in Toronto too. And yes, almost everyone says Plan-tin. I’ve had some serious debates with a few of my Ghanaian brothers who insist on pronouncing it Plan-tain but I always come out the winner lol.
