Nothing surprising that world events influence styles. Just look at all the 50's cars with design cues from jets and rockets or the Hummer H2 and H3 trying to offer military style with street car comfort that grew out of all the exposure the Humvee got starting in the Gulf War.

They aren't sustainable. Nothing happening in the economy and the market is. GDP is being completely ballasted by consumer debt. That bubble is gonna pop. And when no one can pay back anything...good luck!

Most people are idiots when it comes to buying cars.  There are way too many people making little money yet driving late model cars.  Yes, stuff has gotten expensive.  But people are also using 84 month loans as a way to upgrade, not just afford the bare minimum.  And that’s on them.  If you have to finance anything…

I mean- the Jeep type vehicle was never really GM’s thing. GM has the Hummer franchise and I am guessing they will continue to milk that with maybe smaller Hummers, and Hummer trucks, etc.
