Good point! But in a world where most automaker decisions are made via sales figures, I’m surprised they would green light another go-around since. Again, glad they are, just surprised!

I never saw the final cut, but the raw stuff was solid.  I stood right behind Adam Carolla when he introduced the Stig for the first time.  Honestly all I ever wanted was a still shot of that!  haha

I was at the never aired NBC Top Gear pilot taping many years ago in L.A. Andy Wilman was on stage welcoming everyone and gestured to the crowd noting:

Surprised that they went with those headlights, when they have shown that they can create new, more modern, less ugly looking lights.

Yeah that always befuddles me.  Unless it’s like blackout fog conditions or something, that isn’t really helping anyone.

Definitely.  I’ll bet if I asked someone at a stoplight why their lights are off they would say “I can see where I’m going just fine”. 

I’ve pondered that as well, not like it would hurt anyone.  I’m always curious why people seemingly refuse to turn their lights on, aside from being blissfully unaware of how their car works. 

Yeah, I drive a different press car each week so I can potentially understand some of the confusion.  Each automaker does it a little differently.  But once it’s YOUR car, I feel like you should figure it out.  People just have a “I see light coming out up there, I’m good” I guess.

Good stuff, I had similar memories. I did a quick piece on “Where are they now” from 90s tuner companies. Amazingly, most are still around!
