I agree with you for the most part. The top comment on here is about Destiny, and I had a similar experience as that person. I played it a long time, and then slowly realized I didn’t like it and gave up on it. I’m not entitled to a refund.

The point is hours should be irrelevant because the game is blatant false advertising and fraud.
If it takes me 25+ hours to get it playable post release because of crashing and another 20 to figure out all of the main features were lies? Shouldn’t I at least get a refund for what should be a lawsuit for fraud?
I wish I could give you all the favorites.
I mean... I dated a girl for 3 years once, before I realized I hated her.
I always wonder why they don’t compare video game body diversity to “sport” body diversity in real life... because very often, if not usually, the character we’re taking over in video games are in a context where physical fitness (if not attractiveness) is a very relevant factor. I mean... if you turn on most any…
True, Overwatch does have more diversity, and that’s great. I honestly mean that! But some games in the last decade have had normal looking women too, and I’m not a huge fan of Anita for this. Plus, most men in video games are built and attractive and the “ideal” as well. I know most men don’t care as much about…
I’m not a fan of people yelling profanity on camera just to be controversial, but it’s also hard to get around the fact that a company controlling who is allowed to make an income on what they say does have a suppressing effect on free speech.
Youtubers like DeFranco are able to pull their own sponsors if need be.
Youtube won’t pay them for any ads they might attach to their videos though Youtube will make money but In video ads can be placed to Suppliment the loss f the Youtube ads.
This feels more like a push to Youtube Red. They’re not getting enough…
You’re making the same tired argument that comes up every single time there’s an article about censorship. Call it whatever pedantic term you want, but creative people are being forced to alter and compromise their work, or they run the very real risk of not being able to produce anything at all.
Advertisers won’t bring the money unless there’s an audience. That’s rather obvious. So if people lose subscribers due to having to artificially “clean up” their content, it’s bad for everyone, Youtubers and Advertisers alike.
There is, it’s not being able to afford to eat if you make what you want vs not being able to make what you want in exchange of being able to eat.
but think about it. you could have your video de moenitized for talking about that earthquake in Italy.
The big benefit of being able to monetize is that content creators can turn making YouTube videos into a job. Which results in much better content overall because content creators spend more time making their videos as best as they can be. What YouTube as basically done is said that you can’t create whatever you want…
“Basic TV standards” such as don’t give people advice on how to hide their acne with makeup. Gotcha.
This is what happens when you suck on the teat of “Big Business”.
It’s TECHNICALLY true. Just like saying “You can criticize us. But if you say anything against the government, we will take all your money and make sure you starve”. Technically, you can express yourself. But if you look a slight little bit further, then you realize it’s indirect but absolute and utter censorship.
YouTube has always favored advertisers and corporations over their users. It’s still insanely easy to get false flagged and have your channel shut down because of legal content and opinions. Unless someone eventually builds a better alternative, we’re stuck hearing the same half-assed responses and legal jargon. This…
I said it on a Jim Sterling video earlier, but this stupidity will just make services like Indigogo or Patreon laugh all the way to the bank.
Ive noticed alot of youtubers using patreon as alternative revenue stream these days, seems like the healthy thing to do to build a fanbase that funds you directly instead of relying on clicks and views.
