Playing the first game is important because it gives you perspective on how far the game has come from its clunky roots, and let's you appreciate the later games even more.

I do know minecraft, and to be honest its nothing but garbage. If thats the example you use about amateurs making stuff for the Oculus vs the PS4, you can keep it. (Not intending to troll, I just think its worthless).
I doubt this device will be more than $150, its not even remotely the quality of Sonys other head mounted devices, and relies a lot on existing tech like the Playstation Move (that is dirt cheap) and Playstation 4 Camera (that is also cheap if you can find one). If the Oculus guys can produce a headset that has a lot…
And this makes it desirable? That you can have a bunch of amateurs make a bunch of useless demos? Im sorry, but this is the exact opposite of a selling point for me.
Its funny that you make an assumption that you have to be a rich PS4 owner to buy this, yet you dont seem to make the same distinction for PC owners. Since the PS4 version relies a lot on the PS4 camera, it is very likely that they will hit a price point well below the Oculus Rift (which doesnt have an official…
Being biased against MS, my first thought is that they are just trying to get more time with it as an Xbox One exclusive. My second thought is that the game seems like its too much for the 360 and its likely they are still balancing out the sacrifices they have to make to put it on last generations hardware.
I do remember D2, very fondly. The grind was not (that) bad. Granted I quit shortly after I played through LoD because hacking grew too rampant and they were often resetting characters or using the ban hammer with lots of collateral damage because of SoJ duping, etc...
They took grinding to a whole new level in D3 to prevent saturation of the auction house. To even come close to getting the items you want, or enough in game currency to buy them, took much more grinding then D2. So no, its not worth playing when they try and increase the grind just so the auction house can make a…
I have heard the same argument for many F2P MMOs, when the reality is that the amount of grinding required to realistically purchase things from in game currency is astronomically high compared to, say, other games that don't have such mechanics.
Its really a case of one mans trash is anothers treasure. As an example I have played many F2P MMOs at the request of friends that say the game is great without spending a penny, hell you can actually grind for hundreds and hundreds of hours to accumulate enough in game currency and actually buy the virtual items…
One small step for man...
They announced that its a timed exclusive and will come to other platforms in the future. They never actually specifically mentioned the PS4 as one of the platforms, but its very likely.
Microsoft has been one of the worst offenders in this area. You either don't watch many commercials, or have on some rose colored glasses. Their most recent attacks have been on their surface commercials. And then how about their cell phone commercials where they essentially talk trash about Android/iOS users? …
Wait...when the PSN was down for a bit yesterday for scheduled maintenance (though you could still play if you were already logged in), the comments were all about how PSN sucks and Xbox Live is rock solid. The Xbox Live service may be pretty damn good but lets not pretend its perfect.
The system before the last was closer to a normal comment system. The problem they are having is not only do they want to make each comment into its own mini-blog with boat loads of social networking features (which is ridiculous) but one comment gets more weight than another one (as you pointed out about the last…
I wonder how long they will keep the old system around? I remember the last transition to the system they just moved from and it was a great system, they keep making it worse and worse by making it a complex mess when we just want nested comments...thanks for the recommendation, I have been trying to find other sites…
It seems like an unnecessarily complex mess (whats wrong with an article with a standard nested comments?), and I, as someone that cares more for the comments than the article, I doubt that I will continue to read kotaku, unfortunately.
You are mistaken about the RAM in the PS3. Its not that games only get 256 MB, its that games get 256 MB graphics ram and 256 MB "normal" ram for a grand total of 512 MB but they are two separate entities rather than the uniform 512 MB memory on the 360/One/PS4. Of course, the system (OS) holds a small percentage…
I don't disagree, but this is the #1 defense that WiiU fans claim is the reason for the poor sales. They say its not because of the hardware specs (which they say doesn't matter), and they say the game selection is better than the PS4/Xbox One, so the reason they say that the WiiU is doing so poorly is that potential…
I can't be certain but I think I saw an Axe body spray ad once...in what...7 years? And that's just in the store, not on the main UI.
