My order exactly! TWBB is one of those rare movies that I knew was a masterpiece and a new favorite the moment it ended.

I just saw it for the first time a couple days ago - can someone explain to me why everyone loves it so much? I thought it was kind of disappointing after watching TWBB and Magnolia (I've been playing PTA catch-up in prep for The Master). It wasn't as thematically focused as his other films… In fact, it seemed to me…

I'm gonna catch flack for this, but: Nolan? I'm seventeen years old, a lover of pop culture and philosophy, a denizen of the internet, and - while he's certainly not the best director - I think Nolan is the director of our generation. My generation, at least. How old are you people? Anyways. That's why I was miffed…

Speaking as a seventeen year-old, I think Nolan is this generation's Spielberg. Every film he makes is an event, and they all remind me why I'm in love with film. They make me giddy. I don't know what it is, but there's something about his films that speaks to me on a deeper level than more overtly intellectual…

It's not funny so much as mind-blowingly accurate.

And therefore, possibly my favorite. It's like The Far Side by way of the Coen brothers - anti-humor so overt it becomes normal humor, which then becomes anti-humor, which reverts back to normal humor, and in the end you're so lost you can't help but crack up.

That sounds legitimately delicious.

Just defending my opinion. I didn't even think it would be controversial; weirdly, I expected that most people are generally FOR love and forgiveness, but apparently people are hateful, spiteful, and vengeful. Who knew.
