A variety of reasons come to mind:
I am not really eating paleo but I have never really eaten a lot of processed foods and the idea to buy a "ready meal" for lunch just strikes me as alien. I always end up pre-cooking and taking my lunch to work with me (when I still worked at an office, now working from home it's even easier).
People are getting bigger but that's not necessarily good. If you look at physical abilities it's been on a downtrend for the last 50 - 60 years.
Actually the F-35 isn't as revolutionary as you may think. The F-22 provided a pretty good "proof of concept" and although individual parts are new designs (e.g. engine) it's not like they switched from Kerosene to nuclear power to power that thing.
Well, one reason could be that the F-22 is essentially "dead". No more will be build. The F-35 on the other hand is supposed to be the backbone of the American Air power for the next 30+ years.
Well, in my defence I don't pretend I am not a geek, though unlike Parah Salin indicates I am in pretty good physical shape as well, I really don't look the "geek" or "nerd" part.... Well, maybe my -7.5 glasses contribute hint at this a bit, though they are current style and don't feature any tape to hold it together…
Well, what do you call "lecturing"? If you talk about something, and then explain how X works it that a lecture? It's really a question to what degree people want to know about "stuff". I am not saying that most people don't want to know stuff, that was a bit wrongly phrased by myself, but rather that most of the…
I bought one too, not to play but to do my photo editing and act as central hub for all my media. IMO worth the money, though that may change with Mountain Lion. May have to go Linux after all.
Yeah, so could I and still we buy our servers from a vendor with support and all of it. By my estimate, without service contract, it still costs us double (at least) of what the individual parts would be.
With how much fiddling?
It definately was worth the investment for me. The Mac Mini wouldn't have worked out and the iMac, although tempting, provided me with storage issues.
Giz et. al. try to read the tea leafs (or coffe grounds if you like) on where technology is going.
I don't see the Mac Pro as being overpriced compared to what you get from Dell or HP in the same range.
I would be happy if they would just stop being so greedy on the GFX. They charge essentially double for the same card vis-a-vis PC. I recently spent $300 to upgrade my old GFX and it makes a huge difference, until then I was contemplating replacing the entire Mac Pro but now I am not so sure.
I would say hormones are the main DRIVER behind seeking out a mate and they also influence the way we perceive other people.
I think you're too narrow in your look at human history. You're essentially looking at "western culture" for your reference.
That doesn't make her any more sympathetic.
I think what you can see with anonymous is just normal group behaviour. The group gets attacked and the group, as a whole, responds. In a normal environment where there is a power structure, the ones in charge tend to step in and prevent the biggest abuses. In a group like anonymous where there is no real leadership…
"But the real question might be: How is this worth it to Emick?"
Actually the first question that needs to be answered is if the prosecution followed the rules. If not everything else doesn't matter. By the looks of it they didn't, so they won't have a case but may have opened the Government up to be sued for damages.
