Take a look at headlight assemblies and margins there. When our 2012 grand cherokee had a minor accident, a replacement OEM headlight assembly was ~$1k, not including the bulb/ballast.

You need to remember that this is gross profit on the level of the car itself, not Tesla as a whole.  Let’s take a look at the iPhone 8 as an example:

For the low dollars, I think the shift stop helped a decent amount.  I haven’t done the bushing, but the shift stop seems logical.  It’s a mirror image of the stop that Subaru puts in between 5/6, but for the 1/2 gap.  It’s not as smooth as 5-6, but better than before.

Yeah I was considering the same.  I’m an idiot, and just wanted to be able to mount the driving lights from my Wrangler that I had traded up above the roofline.

My big peeve is that they removed the roof rack mounts for 2015-2017, then added them back for 2018.  They didn’t remove them from the base impreza, only the WRX.

I also have a 2016 WRX, but ordered mine with the Short Throw Shifter from Subaru, then added a Perrin Shift Stop and it’s definitely better than the stock situation.  I do agree though - the best way I saw it summed up was as a bucket of sand and rocks with a stick in it.

Usually the stock HU sends something pitiful, like 18w, to the speakers. The stock speakers are usually very easy to drive, garbage.

But it is limited production - Kia dealers won’t actually let you test drive it, buy it, or service it!  Kia Corporate will kill it after ~3 years of lackluster sales, and wonder what the designers did wrong.

For additional reference, we purchased a brand new F150 that stickered at ~$45k last year for $34k out the door.

Lack of paint barely matters - my ‘14 Wrangler’s painted but exposed black bolts started rusting within 6 months of ownership.  I would still own the Jeep if that was my only issue though!

Or owner #2 sold it after crashing due to repair costs.

My concern would be the engine - I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a “display” engine with none of the moving parts inside. Also, it may not have received any fluids if it was destined to sit in a showroom floor and not leak.

Anyone who blacks out the windows, adds tons of red accents, then claims the car is supercharged when it isn’t, probably isn’t the most mechanically inclined individual. Unless this had full service records, I would probably avoid it.

Natural Selection

If you are still set on a JK Wrangler, then try to find one that has the optional side curtain airbags. The exposed metal door frames do not look soft (former JKU owner).

The original warthog and ghost are my 2 favorite video game vehicles of all time in an FPS.

Is Jalopnik trying to make this the next Takata? Seriously many articles:

I agree, but I think they tend to fall into the same bucket as people who only pay cash or use Debit cards, and walk around screaming that credit cards are the devil. As with any type of credit/debt instrument, it’s a tool. Many millionaires also have mortgages on their homes, because the returns they can make on

Agreed 100%. There are usually a bunch of personal finance couch gurus who chime in with “you should never have a car loan no matter what!” that I like to disagree with.
