We live in this culture, a lot of us grew up in that time period, we know the motivations and the reasons for our side. Putting the enemy in as the protagonist offers richer storytelling…

I thought it was a great season finale. Yes there are threads open but this is a series. Thematically, this IS the ending of a chapter in the show, so I think it works as a finale. Closing all threads in a show like this would see weird.
