I feel like Torch must not drive at all through 4-way stops. There are a couple that I go through on my way to work, and it’s normal for 2 vehicles going in different directions to be in the intersection at the same time, and even sometimes 3. Humans can anticipate what everyone is doing, as this computer seems to be

Also reminiscent of a young Ivanka Trump “selling” lemonade to their household staff.

Very reminiscent of Eliza Reed selling eggs to the family housekeeper in Jane Eyre.

I watched the first 5 videos and couldn’t tell what the fuck Torch was on about. The car acted better than 99% of human drivers.

Babysitting horses pays WAY more than babies.

So?

True, but she is 30. She would have been 22 when Romney tried to get into the White House, which means between being a typical self-absorbed twenty something year old PLUS having been raised by Republicans, she likely wasn’t even thinking much about politics.

It was an interview on a podcast not a press release.

Even at the 4x speed it didn’t seem bad. If you’re waiting until the cross-traffic is fully through the intersection to start accelerating, you’re holding everyone up unnecessarily.

I see far worse driving from human beings on a daily basis than this robot car.

Dashcam yourself and you will notice you are doing exactly the same thing. You let go of the brake and start moving before the other car in 4-way stop sign intersection completely cleared the intersection. If you don’t someone else will take your turn and you will wait forever and people behind you will start honking.

i’ve driven around plenty of these things and they are incredibly conservative as it is.

I don’t think Torch is responsible for the video speed. The music track indicates this is how GM made them available. He even suggests several times that we viewers slow the speed to something closer to real-time.

Yeah, 1.6MPH in a second. My damn Wrangler reaches 4 MPH idling when I drop the clutch.

Yeah These are perfectly fine. Every human does this when driving as well, otherwise you are stopped for a lot of extra time and significantly impact the efficiency of the intersection.

I think Torch would be quite surprised if he dash cam’d his own driving and noticed when he entered an intersection after oncoming traffic, I suspect it looks very similar.  We don’t notice IRL because our brains can handle the crossing car easily and your eyes really should be scanning the unknowns in the

I don’t see any of these “near t-bones” as an issue, personally.

then, at the next intersection, we watch the Cruise Bolt almost hit a Toyota SUV

That charming family on bikes is a bunch of morons. And who lets their kid run stop signs? Cyclists like this are why city cyclists get a bad rap.
