I feel like these kids behaving badly movies are always taken to such unrealistic extremes. I mean I am sure some do bad shit but these movies always seem to frame them as “Just normal kids but with one small slide into depravity their whole concept of civilization and morality grumble down and they become monsters”.

Every generational tag is, first and foremost, a curse word when used by all the other generations. Such is our need to see otherness in people.

“What a strikingly explicit spectacle of millennial depravity!”

I dont know. The whole “Carol murdered her husband” story line just reeked of manipulative film making to me. Every single person accusing her has a MASSIVE axe to grind yet none of their potential motivations are ever really discussed (other than very briefly by Carol). I mean, Joe’s own story changes from “she fed

One thing re: the epilogue that really struck me was Joe’s brief moment of self-awareness when he’s talking about the monkeys and muses aloud about whether it was cruel of him to keep them apart for all these years. It’s a deeply sad self-reflection, and that’s one of the reasons why I agree with Katie that he’s the

It’s one of the reasons I prefer Breaking Bad. Its ambitions weren’t that of The Wire, but BB executed them better and really stuck the landing.

“Stumptown”. Hate the name. Love the show. I hope ABC in it’s all knowing wisdom will see fit to renew this nugget of wonderfulness.

Oddly enough, the reason for season 2 may be the coronavirus. With pilot season shut down, a show whose ratings were sadly, undeservedly marginal has a chance at a renewal as a known quantity.

Whatever gives us more of this show, it deserves a second chance.

Nah man they’re just Japanese. You wait until his son reaches the last day of his 59th year (probably on 15 years time), then it’ll suddenly catch up to him overnight.

Nailed it. If she chose to make a paragraph about her misgivings about capitalism, fine. It might have read well. As is, she hijacked the review and made it worse.

This is becoming more and more common. I don’t read the AV Club to pick through the reviewers’ politics. I want the writer’s insight into the creative output of the performers, writers, editors. Why it’s worthwhile to see, what makes it different (if at all) from the other stuff out there. It used to be really easy to

Aw jeez, I have always hated “fuck, marry, kill,” from the first moment I heard of it. “Fuck” and “marry” are both totally OK, but “kill”? There is only a short list I would like to see dead. Least of all one of the three choices, all nearly impossible to do without, that you put up there.

Moral of the story, don't say anything ever, because 4 people (including yashir Ali whoever the f that is) might get offended. Wank wank.

...but I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that’s where this story is headed. (It’s pretty much the whole premise of the miniseries, after all.

He will never admit a weakness and to his weak mind, sickness is a weakness. He also has access to the best medical care in the world along with Third Reich level amphetamines.

They seem to ignore that Latino is not a race and that there are indeed millions of white people living all over Latin America and who are as Latino as those with darker skin. When your entire argument is that Oprah is being ignorant (and she is), it would help not to be ignorant yourself.

Mike clearly needs to join a Fight Club. He’ll get all the therapy he needs.

“Biden/Harris: marijuana convictions for all!”

Four years ago, a woman garnered millions more votes in this country.

It was “North Kentucky” in the Behind the Simpsons episode. That’s not considered canon, though.
