Really sad that two of the three guys who find the money are now gone in real life.

It’s better than Get Shorty.

“I do not like seeing Thin Red Line lower than Pvt Ryan. 20 minutes of spectacular film making does not make a movie - otherwise wed all be heaping praise for The Happening.”

Well people in YouTube comments are often morons. We can’t judge the movie based on what its stupidest viewers take from it.

I think the frame story is essential for the film’s themes to work.

It’s shown on military bases because it’s one of the most popular, military-focused movies ever made. That’s not really a good argument for it being a good recruitment device.

It can be a positive and necessary thing while still being against the nature of the worldwide event in the first place. I think the movie threads that line beautifully.

Well I disagree with every single word in that post.

“It would have been a lot more affecting if they’d been bored or goofing around, completely oblivious to what their grandpa was going through.”

Um, Ryan collapsed in front of Miller’s grave in front of his family. He’s clearly never gotten over what happened to him. And I don’t know where you’re getting “basically concludes he’s ‘earned it...’.” He asks his wife, in a manner that shows he has no confidence in an affirmative answer, if he has indeed achieved

Yeah, I don’t understand people complaining about “Earn this.” Moment works and hits like a hammer, IMO.

It’s not ridiculous in the least, though. Unless there’s a new definition of the word.

Yeah, that criticism has always been nonsense.

That final battle is amazing.

We need the sun shining through the American flag, though. That bookend shot is a great visual metaphor.

The lack of Dark City and Pleasantville - as well as the inclusion of the awful Funny Games - are the most glaring “nope, wrong” aspects in this article.

I think there’s real heart in Lebowski - his relationship with Walter and Donny, the budding friendship/whatever that develops with Maude - but it is hidden under the constant absurdity.

It is a truly great film, though, and a top 10 placement is definitely deserved.

Honestly I’d find it pretty hard to automatically pick one over the other.

I’m sorry that I can’t be paying attention to you whenever you demand. Some one who cares about you should tell you to grow up.
