The self-titled album (sometimes called “avocado” by people snarking) is one of their best collections of songs and a criminally underrated piece of work.

Twin Cinema, Challengers, and Brill Bruisers are their best albums though...
A Moon Shaped Pool is one of the best things they’ve ever done, but it is quite a step away from the late-90's to 2000 run.
Yeah I thought that movie nailed the comedy/violence mix. That final scene in the diner is a riot.
Huh. Brutal Youth is quite excellent to my ears.
There’s a little song called “Like a Rolling Stone” that deserves a look.
Katie is right about the perfection of This Year’s Model, but Costello has released several albums that are better than his (classic) debut. One of them, Armed Forces, was his third overall. I’d also rank King of America, Imperial Bedroom and maybe Get Happy! above “Aim.” I don’t think he’s a good pick for this Q&A.
LOL on that screencap.
Both the gymkata and the dino-in-the-city stuff is disastrous, IMO. I don’t think it’s anywhere near ok.
A.I. is a highly-regarded film, so an argument placing it with Spielberg’s worst is going to get some arched eyebrows.
Bingo.
Quentin is a bit more sympathetic, and he’s not as big a liar as George. But he’s neurotic to beat the band!
The script was funnier than this commercial (though the commercial had some laughs).
Thank you! Yes, Jason may be living in the ‘20's but his attitude and perception of the world is very of-the-moment. I he’d been around in 2016, I don’t think anyone has to wonder which candidate would’ve had his support.
I found the Jason section as fascinating as the previous two, even if it’s told in a much more straightforward style. Jason is such a dishonest, mean-spirited wreck of a person. His constant criticisms and whining are actually funny a few times (“I don’t know if you’re aware, but I’m interested in the cotton market.”).
Yeah, I (SPOILERS) missed that he was leaving the dorm to drown himself at the end of the chapter. I got that he was clearly losing his mind and well on his way to self-annihilation, I just didn’t pick up that the section finished with him leaving to do the deed.
Yeah the Jason and Dilsey sections fly by after the first half of the book.
Keep digging. You’ll get to where you’re going.
“Maybe. But there are a fair amount of people who oppose illegal immigration. So it will be awhile.”
America will be better when people like you are properly ostracized.
