I recall reading somewhere that Lucas originally said that R2D2 is the narrator of the story. The whole “long time ago in a galaxy far far away” thing was R2D2, at some point in the future, telling the story of his adventures with Luke and the rebellion.

I’m also a guy from Ohio. Miami is a public school, and actually has a great academic reputation. The business school is particularly strong. I know Ohio State has gotten better in recent years, but when I was applying to Ohio schools ~15 years ago it was much tougher to get into Miami than OSU.
