@JAlexoid: I have used the moto backflip, droid, nexus one, and two different galaxy s phones. The reason I've used all of these models: these are the phones my friends own. I personally own a nexus one as my dev phone. It is no where close to as user friendly as WP7, iOS, or webOS.

I wouldn't say Android is ugly. It's a bunch of icons arranged in tiles, like every other touch based OS. @ian.g.case: Agreed. If your cellphone is your only phone, and for a lot of us non rich people out there it is, then a smartphone isn't that bad price wise. For a land line through a telephone company and not voip it's about $60 for the same features you get on a cellphone minus SMS, MMS, and Internet.
